NEW YORK: British writer Salman Rushdie, whose blasphemous writings made him the goal of dying threats and led him to reside in hiding, was attacked on stage Friday in western New York state.

Video footage posted on social media confirmed folks speeding to his assist after he was attacked on the occasion in Chautauqua County, with police confirming a stabbing whereas declining to right away determine the sufferer.
