Calculators for Retirement Online
There are numerous websites on the Internet where one can use free online retirement calculators. They are valuable tools for those just beginning to plan for retirement. Many can be found quickly on Google or other popular search engines. Best way to find the age calculator.
Retirement Calculators in the United States
Bloomberg Business has a program available online. However, their software is sold in U.S. dollars. Bloomberg’s casks require the user to enter their current age and the age at which they wish to retire. Other fields need users to enter the amount of money they intend to set aside each year and the interest rate. So Bloomberg is probably not the best site for UK users unless they plan to spend their retirement in the United States.
There is one for the American Association of Retired Persons (A.A.R.P.). The interface for the A.A.R.P. software is entirely different from that of Bloomberg. Unlike Bloomberg, the A.A.R.P. program is a questionnaire that requests personal information from users. It demands that users submit their biographical information, including marital status, current age, the age at which they intend to retire, and their yearly salary rate. A questionnaire about the user’s lifestyle is also included. The apparent disadvantage of the A.A.R.P. program is that it requests too many personal details, which some users may not be comfortable providing over the Internet.
F.I.N.R.A. also offers an online training program. The F.I.N.R.A. software interface is similar to that of Bloomberg. Unlike A.A.R.P., it does not request personal information from the user. Instead, there are fields for the user’s current age, retirement age, and annual income. F.I.N.R.A. has unique features, including inflation and present and retirement tax rates. F.I.N.R.A.’s interface is more user-friendly than those of Bloomberg and A.A.R.P. It is ideal for users who are just starting to plan their retirement.
Retirement Calculators in the United Kingdom
Numerous online resources are available to those considering retiring in the United Kingdom. The newspaper The Guardian has its software. Unfortunately, the graphics on the site are disappointing. Despite its Spartan appearance, the Guardian is easy to use. Like Bloomberg and F.I.N.R.A., it only requests information about the current age and retirement age. The Guardian also offers the option of including the inflation rate.
Value My Pension has its software as well. It looks better than The Guardian. Value My Pension’s pages are also more personalized. On the other hand, Value My Pension is not such a cold computer. The top of the page displays research findings indicating the target amount for a comfortable retirement in the United Kingdom.
