Ford, Volvo be a part of Redwood in EV battery recycling push in California

Ford Motor Co. and Geely Car’s Volvo Cars will be a part of battery recycling startup Redwood Supplies in growing processes, beginning in California, to gather end-of-life batteries from electrical and hybrid automobiles and get better the supplies to be used in new batteries, the businesses said Thursday.

Redwood Supplies, based by former Tesla govt JB Straubel, fashioned an earlier partnership final fall with Ford to develop a “closed loop” or round provide chain for EV batteries, from uncooked supplies to recycling.

On Thursday, Redwood Supplies stated it might work immediately with sellers and dismantlers in California to establish and get better end-of-life battery packs. The supplies in these packs can be recovered and recycled at Redwood Supplies services in northern Nevada.
